Hey Vinny / Gang,
***EDIT*** It looks like Saturday the 31st is the winner. Now to pick a route!! Hmmmm.....
I'm itchin' to get a group drive going since my knee is finally on the mend AND I just bolted on a set of OEM AP2/V1 rims with Toyo T1R tires.
I took a co-worker up and down Palomar.....and down Mesa Grande. His girlfriend made them pull over as she was about to yack - hahahaha. Th ething is, I had to stop for them (Subie WRX) at least 3 times going up Palomar and again on the way down. Basically I was outrunning them with ease - even in a think fog. Anyway enough about that.......
I WANNA DRIVE!!!
Who's with me?
Basically any weekend except the 10th-11th.

How about the last weekend of the month on May 31? May 11 is mine and Jen's birthdays, so that weekend is reserved already. I have surgery on Tuesday, June 3.

Oh crap...I forgot about that. I don't know yet. I have to find out what noise I have coming from the rear of the car. It sounds like something coming from the diff. If it is going to be expensive to fix, then I can't do a track day and the festival Larry told me about. And I dont want to do anything without getting it fixed. The last thing I need is to blow apart my diff on either the track or a mountain road. I believe Jen has to work that weekend, so I can't put the car on a trailer for the track, which means I have to be extra careful..

Okay it looks like the 31st is it then. Vinny, do you want to do the route? This is waht I did a couple weekends ago with Ellie:
Scripps Poway Pkwy to the 67 Through Ramona and Santa Ysabel to Wynola Rd Wynola into Julain Reversed course on Wynola to Santa Ysabel Mesa Grande to the lake Up and down Palomar, stopping at the observatory lot Causer Canyon/Lilac/Old Castle Rd to 15 and home.
This has become my favorite. However I totally cooked my brakes (major fade) at the end of Mesa Grande and had to ease it for a while going up Palomar. I think I'll change pads and see if it helps.
We can also reverse the order to get more wheel time before stopping at Julian for some eats. As listed, the bulk of the driving is after stopping to eat. It may work better traffic-wise if we go the other way.

I'll organize the route. We'll do what I had originally planned the last time before changing it to Idyllwild. We'll meet at the Arco at Deer Springs Rd at 7 AM. For the brakes, you have fade because you boiled the fluid. Bleeding the system would be better than just changing the pads.
